PhotoPrime®
SR 330 Primer

PhotoPrime SR enables over 90% reduction in frictional force on even the most challenging substrates such as PEEK, Polyimide, and Silicone. These substrates have low surface energy and are strongly hydrophobic; they do not hold a lubricious coating easily. Conventional high-lubricity technologies typically achieve a coefficient of friction (CoF) from 0.25 to 0.45 on these substrates. PhotoPrime SR allows a durable hydrophilic coating to be applied and achieve coefficients of friction less than 0.02, as shown in the graphs below.

High performance primer
for difficult-to-coat substrates

PhotoPrime® SR 330 primer leverages ISurTec’s patented Affinity-Based Technology (ABT) for high performance bonding of your desired topcoat to even the most challenging substrates. PhotoPrime SR pairs well with the ISurGlide 460 family of lubricious coating solutions. It may be applied using common medical device coating procedures – dip coating followed by UV cure to covalently bond the coating to the device.

PhotoPrime SR is designed to work with:

Outstanding Lubricity and Durability

The graphs below illustrate Industry standard lubricity and durability testing conducted on two commonly used medical device substrates. Each substrate was primed with PhotoPrime SR 330 and given a top-coat of ISurGlide 460 hydrophilic coating. Testing was performed with a commercial Friction Test System set with 500 grams clamping force.
