Senior Microbiologist

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will perform and direct research projects aimed at next-generation technology development in antimicrobial coatings for device-centered infection control.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, immobilization, and testing of synthetic and natural antiadhesion and microbicidal polymers for biofilm and device-centered infection control.
• Assist in the development of micro/nanobead coating and immobilization technology for genomic, proteomic and cellomic assay system development.
• Assume the Project Leadership or Prinicpal Investigator role in one or more private or publicly-funded research/technology development projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ yrs. research experience in related field, with advanced research in microbial growth control and, desirably, in microarray assay systems.
